Junior Golf Plus was a major outreach programme, organised by Troon churches to tie in with the open championship. Free golf lessons were on offer, with extra events taking place at night.

We were already supplying equipment to two of the venues that were running for the entire fortnight, and were asked to cover a large concert which was being organised in the Town Hall. This event marked the halfway point of the programme. Titus, an energetic young band from Newcastle, headlined the concert, ably supported by two local bands.

Troon Town Hall has a good sized stage, which meant there was plenty of scope for a spectacular lightshow. Some of our newer effects lighting made its debut at this show. Most of the lighting was set up at the back of the stage, behind the bands,so everything had to be up and focussed before anybody could start sound checking.

The setup time and show all ran very smoothly. There was a good turnout, which ensured there was plenty of atmosphere for the bands. Despite the amount of equipment supplied, everything was derigged and away in record time. The van was packed and driving away from the venue in less than two hours.
